Yong Shi et al. investigated how TGR5 affects M1/M2 polarization in macrophages. In their experiments, they used ELISA kits to analyze the cytokine levels of tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α), interleukin-6 (IL-6), IL-1β, IL-4, IL-10, and IL-18 in serum and supernatant. This assay was used to explore whether TGR5 deficiency in NASH increases macrophage-associated inflammation.
The results showed that mice lacking TGR5 expressed higher levels of the pro-inflammatory cytokines TNF-α and IL-6, but lower levels of the anti-inflammatory cytokines IL-4 and IL-10. The results of serum ELISA were consistent with those reported above. In conclusion, the data suggested that TGR5 deficiency in NASH increases macrophage-associated inflammation.

ELISA kits designed specifically for macrophage research are invaluable tools for investigating the role and behavior of macrophages in various biological and disease contexts. Below are some specific applications for which these ELISA kits can be used, especially when studying macrophage-related processes and immune responses.
ELISA kits allow precise measurement of cytokines produced by macrophages, including IL-6, TNF-α, IL-1β, and IL-12. These kits can be used to quantify macrophage activation and inflammatory response under various stimuli, helping researchers understand the dynamics of macrophage-mediated inflammation in disease models.
Macrophages secrete chemokines like CCL2, CCL5, and CXCL10, which are essential for immune cell recruitment. ELISA kits that measure chemokines enable analysis of macrophage-driven chemotaxis and migration in inflammation, cancer, and infection research.
Q: What is the sensitivity and specificity of these ELISA kits?
A: The sensitivity and specificity of our ELISA kits for macrophages are rigorously evaluated during development. Each kit is optimized to detect low concentrations of target proteins with high specificity to avoid cross-reactivity. The specific performance metrics, including the lower limit of detection and specificity details, can be found in the kit's product insert and accompanying data sheets, allowing you to assess whether it meets your research needs.
Q: Can the ELISA kits be used in high-throughput screening?
A: Yes, our ELISA kits for macrophages can be adapted for high-throughput screening. They are designed to accommodate multiple samples simultaneously, facilitating faster experiments without compromising accuracy. Utilizing multiwell plates allows for the parallel analysis of numerous samples, making them ideal for researchers who require extensive data on macrophage behavior in various experimental conditions.
Q: What kind of samples can I use with these ELISA kits?
A: The ELISA kits for macrophages can be used with various sample types, including cell culture supernatants, serum, plasma, and tissue homogenates. Each kit comes with specific guidelines on sample preparation and dilution factors to ensure optimal assay performance. It's essential to follow these recommendations to achieve meaningful and reliable results in your research.
Q: Are there any support resources available if I encounter issues while using the kits?
A: Yes, we provide comprehensive support resources to assist users with any challenges that may arise during the use of our ELISA kits for macrophages. Our customer service team, comprised of knowledgeable scientists, is available to answer questions regarding protocols, troubleshooting, and best practices. Additionally, detailed user manuals and online FAQs are provided with each kit.
