Yes. The Macrophage Detachment Solution is specifically formulated to detach adherent macrophages with minimal impact on cell viability or surface antigen expression. It avoids harsh proteolytic activity typically associated with standard trypsinization. After treatment, most cells retain intact markers suitable for flow cytometry, phenotyping, or downstream functional assays, making it ideal for primary and delicate macrophage cultures.
When used as directed, the solution is easily removed by washing the cells with fresh culture medium after detachment. Residual amounts are generally negligible and do not interfere with typical assays, including cytokine ELISAs, flow cytometry, phagocytosis assays, or gene-expression analysis. We recommend a brief wash step to ensure optimal assay performance.
No special neutralization step is required. After detachment, simply dilute and wash the cells with fresh culture medium and proceed with your usual centrifugation and resuspension steps. Standard laboratory safety and handling precautions apply, and aseptic technique should be maintained to avoid contamination.
