Description
Lung interstitial macrophages, characterized by the expression of LYVE1high and MHCIIlow markers, represent a distinct subset of macrophages residing within the lung interstitium, the space between the alveolar epithelium and the pulmonary capillaries. Unlike alveolar macrophages, which predominantly inhabit the alveolar spaces, lung interstitial macrophages are strategically positioned within the lung parenchyma.
Applications
Numerous types of experimental manipulations, including morphological, gene expression, and physiological studies.
