Description

This product is isolated from the bone marrow of pathogen-free laboratory Cynomolgus monkey. This product is negative in the tests of mycoplasma, bacteria, fungi and yeast. The expression of CD11b is positive by flow cytometry. It is guaranteed to further culture in the conditions provided by Creative Biolabs. Repeated freezing and thawing of cells is not recommended.

Upon receiving, transfer this product directly from dry ice to liquid nitrogen(-150°C~-190°C) and store it in a liquid nitrogen tank.
We cannot guarantee the cell viability if the cells are not treated appropriately according to handling procedure.

Are these cells already polarized, or can we polarize them ourselves?

These are bone marrow-derived macrophages (BMDMs), which are considered a naïve (M0) population. They are an excellent and robust starting point for your in vitro polarization assays, allowing you to differentiate them into M1 (pro-inflammatory) or M2 (anti-inflammatory) phenotypes using your specific protocols.

How many cells are in this vial, and what is their source?

This product contains 6 x 10^6 (6 million) viable primary macrophages in one cryovial. They are isolated from the bone marrow of a healthy, pathogen-free laboratory cynomolgus monkey.

What are the storage and handling instructions upon receipt?

The cells are shipped frozen on dry ice. To ensure maximum viability, you must immediately transfer the cryovial to a liquid nitrogen tank (at -150°C to -190°C) for long-term storage. Do not store at -80°C. Thaw quickly in a 37°C bath only when you are ready to use them.

These were clean, active, and the cell count was accurate. We used them for a phagocytosis assay, and they worked perfectly. Highly recommend.

Solid performance
Viability was good. The CD11b expression was bright. I wish more donor information was provided (e.g., age/sex), but for our functional assay, they were great.
