Description

This product is isolated from human peripheral blood. Donors are screened for hepatitis B, hepatitis C, HIV-1 and HIV-2. 5 x 10^6 cells are delivered frozen. This product is negative in the tests of mycoplasma, bacteria, fungi and yeast. The expression of CD11b is positive by flow cytometry. It is guaranteed to further culture in the conditions provided by Creative Biolabs. Repeated freezing and thawing of cells is not recommended.

Handling Notes

Upon receiving, transfer this product directly from dry ice to liquid nitrogen(-150°C~-190°C) and store it in a liquid nitrogen tank.
We cannot guarantee the cell viability if the cells are not treated appropriately according to handling procedure.

What is the cell count and source?

This vial contains 5 x 10^6 (5 million) cells, isolated from the peripheral blood of a healthy 32-year-old human donor.

How do I handle these cells upon receipt?

Upon arrival on dry ice, the frozen vial must be immediately transferred to liquid nitrogen for storage. When ready to use, thaw the vial rapidly in a 37°C water bath and gently transfer the cells into pre-warmed, recommended culture medium. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Fantastic M1 macrophages
We used them for an inflammation study, and they produced a robust TNF-α signal. The 5 million cell count is a great value. High viability and purity from this 32-year-old donor.
Good, active M1 cells
These cells are potent! We challenged them with a secondary stimulus, and the pro-inflammatory response was exactly what we needed for our pathway analysis. Much easier than polarizing monocytes ourselves.

Arrived frozen solid. Viability was around 85-90% after thawing, which is good for frozen primary cells. They adhered well and showed the expected M1 characteristics. Satisfied.
