FAQs Customer Reviews Related Products

What is included under the general rat macrophage product line, and how flexible is it for different applications?

The general rat macrophage product provides a well‑characterized population of primary macrophages suitable for a broad range of in vitro assays. Cells are supplied in cryovials at defined cell numbers, ready to be thawed and used with the included protocol.

Are these macrophages compatible with common molecular biology workflows such as RNA extraction, protein analysis, and flow cytometry?

Yes. The cells are fully compatible with downstream methods including RNA extraction for transcriptomics or qPCR, protein extraction for Western blotting or proteomics, and flow cytometry for surface or intracellular marker analysis.

  • We use the general rat macrophage product as a workhorse in our inflammation assays
The cells consistently show high viability and predictable cytokine responses to LPS and other stimuli. This reliability has made them a central component of our screening efforts for novel anti‑inflammatory compounds and biologics.
  • In combination with our rat disease models, these macrophages provide a valuable bridge between in vitro and in vivo work
They tolerate a variety of experimental conditions, including co‑culture with other rat cells and multi‑step stimulation protocols. Their robust performance has helped us generate data that are both biologically relevant and technically solid.
  • Overall, we have been very satisfied with the rat macrophage offerings
The quality is consistently high, the technical support team is responsive, and the products have integrated well into our broader research pipeline. We plan to continue using these cells for future projects and to expand into some of the specialized macrophage lines as our needs evolve.
