Description
Lamina propria-associated macrophages (LPAMs) are a specialized subset of macrophages located within the lamina propria, the connective tissue layer underlying the epithelium of mucosal surfaces in organs such as the gastrointestinal tract and the respiratory tract. LPAMs play pivotal roles in maintaining mucosal immunity, regulating inflammation, and preserving tissue homeostasis within these mucosal compartments.
