Human PB Pan Monocytes (Age: 30), Negative selected, 5 x 10^7 cells (MTS-1022-JF80)

Overview

Description
Monocytes are immune cells that form an important bridge between the innate and adaptive immune response. These cells exist in various phenotypes based on cell surface marker expression and participate in the pathobiology of many systemic diseases. Monocytes provide an ideal model for the study of macrophage biology and mechanisms.
These pan monocytes are purified from peripheral blood by removing other cell types using immunomagnetic negative selection, with the highest viability and plating efficiency. Peripheral blood is collected from donors who have screend for Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C, HIV-1, HIV-2, WNV, and CMV.
Isolated cells are characterized flow cytometry to ensure the enrichment of CD14+ cells.
5 x 10^7 cells per vial.
Cells are negative for bacteria, yeast, fungi, and mycoplasma.
Repeated freezing and thawing of cells is not recommended.

FAQs Customer Reviews Related Products

What method is used to enrich the pan monocyte population?

The product is purified from peripheral blood using immunomagnetic negative selection (depletion of other cell types). This approach is widely used when you want enriched cells while minimizing direct antibody capture of the target subset.

What identity and enrichment QC is performed?

The cells are characterized by flow cytometry to support enrichment confirmation (the page references enrichment checks tied to CD14+ gating). This is helpful for aligning to your internal release criteria.

For macrophage differentiation, what is the practical advantage of starting with 5×10^7 pan monocytes in one vial?

The large input cell number supports multi-arm differentiation designs (e.g., multiple cytokine cocktails, time-course harvests, replicate-heavy conditions) without forcing you to mix vials from different lots, which can introduce variability.

  • The age-30 negative-selected pan monocyte product fit well into our standardized workflow
The large cell quantity supported parallel assay development, training, and internal controls-all from a single lot. Creative Biolabs provided a professional ordering and delivery experience that reduced administrative overhead and helped the science team stay focused on execution.
  • We used these monocytes as the starting point for macrophage generation in a screening pipeline
The cells differentiated reliably and produced consistent phenotype profiles, which helped us compare treatment conditions with confidence. Baseline activation remained low, and functional responses were robust when stimulated. The 5 × 10^7 scale allowed us to run multiple iterations without worrying about shortages or mid-study vendor switches.
  • The documentation was thorough enough to satisfy internal QA and to support reporting
Our lab needed a donor-defined monocyte source with sufficient cell numbers to run repeated experiments over several weeks. These age-30 pan monocytes delivered consistent performance-steady recovery, minimal clumping, and clear functional response upon stimulation. The high cell count reduced supply risk and helped maintain continuity in our dataset.
