Yes. Aside from the expression of the fluorescent protein, they are functionally identical to our standard C57BL/6 BMDMs. They can be polarized to M1 or M2, are highly phagocytic, and respond to stimuli normally.
You can visualize these cells using a standard fluorescein (FITC) filter set on any fluorescence microscope. They have an excitation maximum of ~488 nm and an emission maximum of ~509 nm.
