FAQs Customer Reviews Related Products

What contamination controls are in place before you release the cells?

Lots are released as negative for mycoplasma, bacteria, fungi, and yeast-important for multi-day differentiation where contamination can drive unintended activation.

How should we handle the vial upon arrival to protect viability?

Transfer the vial directly from dry ice to liquid nitrogen (-150°C to -190°C) for storage. Viability cannot be guaranteed if handling procedures are not followed appropriately.

Can we split the vial and refreeze leftover cells for later experiments?

Not recommended. Repeated freezing and thawing is not recommended and can compromise recovery and functional consistency. Use one vial per run where possible.

  • Our lab previously isolated C57BL/6 monocytes in-house, but batch-to-batch differences were impacting our baseline activation
We used the C57BL/6 bone marrow monocytes as the starting population for macrophage differentiation and a downstream functional panel. Shipping on dry ice was reliable, and the handling notes were explicit, so our team moved the vial straight into liquid nitrogen storage immediately upon receipt. Post-thaw recovery was consistent across replicate runs, which helped us compare two differentiation conditions without worrying that input variability was driving the results. The QC note that the cells are negative for mycoplasma, bacteria, fungi, and yeast was a major plus for our multi-day cultures.
  • We purchased this product to build a standardized macrophage pipeline for a screening project
This cryopreserved vial (1 × 10^7) made planning much easier and reduced variability in our workflow. The culture remained stable and clean throughout the experiment. For teams who value reproducibility and need a predictable schedule, this product is a solid alternative to frequent fresh isolations.
  • We selected the C57BL/6 bone marrow monocytes to reduce the time burden of animal work and to keep our macrophage assays consistent across weeks
We appreciated how straightforward the specifications are: cryopreserved format, defined vial size, and clear QC statements for contamination screening. In our differentiation workflow, the cells behaved predictably and did not show unexpected culture crashes or background issues. For a study that required multiple phenotyping endpoints, having a stable and consistent input population was crucial.
