Overview

Description

This product is isolated from the bone marrow of pathogen-free laboratory C57BL/10SnJ mice after immortalization with a recombinant retrovirus, which contains the v-raf and myc oncogenes. This product is negative in the tests of mycoplasma, bacteria, fungi and yeast. The expression of CD11b is positive by flow cytometry. It is guaranteed to further culture in the conditions provided by Creative Biolabs. Repeated freezing and thawing of cells is not recommended.

Upon receiving, transfer this product directly from dry ice to liquid nitrogen(-150°C~-190°C) and store it in a liquid nitrogen tank.
We cannot guarantee the cell viability if the cells are not treated appropriately according to handling procedure.

What's the difference between C57BL/10SnJ and the more common C57BL/6 strain?

While closely related, the C57BL/10SnJ substrain has known genetic differences from C57BL/6. Using these C57BL/10SnJ macrophages is critical if your research involves this specific background.

Very specific, but very necessary product
Our lab works with mdx mice, which are on a C57BL/10 background. Finding this control macrophage line was a lifesaver. We no longer have to harvest from expensive C57BL/10SnJ control mice. The cells are great.
