FAQs Customer Reviews Related Products

Are these resident or elicited macrophages?

These are resident peritoneal macrophages, harvested from naïve, unstimulated CD1 mice. They represent a steady-state M0-like population and are distinct from our elicited products.

The cell count says "0.5-6 x 10^6". What count will I receive?

This indicates that the cell count per vial is variable. The nature of harvesting resident (not elicited) macrophages from outbred mice can lead to different yields. Please check the lot-specific datasheet or contact our sales team for the exact cell count in the current available batch before ordering.

What applications are these best for?

They are an excellent, robust, and cost-effective choice for general-purpose experiments, such as initial compound screening, toxicity testing, or basic phagocytosis and polarization assays where a specific genetic background is not required.

  • A great, economical choice for primary macrophages
We don't need a specific inbred strain, so these CD1 cells are perfect. They are robust and easy to work with.
  • We use these for our initial screening pipeline before moving to more expensive human cells
Good cells. Arrived frozen. Thawed well. The cell count was on the lower end for us (1.5M), but still usable. I'd check the lot count before ordering next time. Quality itself was high.
