The B129 (or 129) mouse strain is a common genetic background used for creating knockout (KO) models, as many embryonic stem (ES) cell lines are derived from it. You should choose these B129-derived macrophages if your in vivo study uses KO mice on a 129 background, as these cells are the genetically appropriate in vitro control.
This product contains a guaranteed 6 x 10^6 (6 million) viable cells per cryovial. We guarantee high viability upon thawing, provided our recommended thawing protocol and culture medium are used.
We provide a detailed protocol with your order. Generally, BMDMs thrive in DMEM or RPMI-1640 supplemented with 10% Fetal Bovine Serum (FBS) and M-CSF to maintain their viability and differentiation.
