FAQs Customer Reviews Related Products

What is the source and cell count?

This vial contains 0.5 x 10^6 (500,000) viable macrophages isolated from the lung tissue of a healthy, pathogen-free CD1 mouse.

What's the best way to culture these primary lung macrophages?

We provide a comprehensive, optimized protocol with the cells. They should be thawed quickly in a 37°C bath, gently resuspended in our recommended complete medium, and allowed to adhere and recover before you apply any experimental treatment.

Are these cells suitable for immunology studies?

Yes, they are highly suitable for studies where you need to assess a general, robust immune response rather than a specific Th1 (B6) or Th2 (BALB/c) biased response. They are a common and cost-effective choice for initial pharmacology and toxicology screening.

  • Viability was high, and they responded consistently to our test compounds.
We use CD1 mice for our general toxicology screens, so these lung macrophages are perfect for our in vitro follow-ups. The quality was excellent, and the cells were very active and highly phagocytic.
  • It's great to have an outbred option for primary cells
A solid, general-purpose lung macrophage. The 500k count is a bit small but fine for 24-well or 48-well plates. Thawed well and adhered quickly.
  • Good cells for the price
Exactly as described. CD1 lung macrophages. Clean, viable, and shipped fast. Creative Biolabs is a reliable vendor for primary cells.
